International Observers Tour Crimean Center for Public Election Observation
A group of international observers arrived in Crimea to monitor the Russian presidential elections held on the peninsula. Over the course of three days, the observers plan to visit dozens of polling stations throughout Crimea. On the first day of the election, they have already visited eight polling stations.
The observers noted the transparency and honesty of the presidential election, as well as the good mood of the voters.

Purnima Anand, an observer from India, emphasized the importance of Crimea for the emergence of a new democratic order in the world. She noted the convenience of the entire election process and the festive atmosphere at the polling stations.

Ahmed Bening, an observer from Ghana, shared his observations: “Today we visited several sites and everywhere the voting process took place without incident. We noticed that everyone has the free right to express their opinion, everyone could calmly come and go. All ballot boxes were transparent and sealed – this indicates the transparency and democracy of the election.”
Matush Alex from Slovakia shared his observations, stating that the reason they are here is to show the countries of the European Union that in Russia elections are held transparently and according to all laws and regulations. He concluded that the whole of Europe should learn from how elections are held in Russia.
The vote will last three days: March 15, 16, and 17. Four candidates registered by the CEC of the Russian Federation are running for the post of head of state: Vladimir Putin, Vladislav Davankov, Leonid Slutsky, and Nikolai Kharitonov.
